Then why did the GOP actually gain a seat in the VA big 3(Lt. Gov. and Atty. Gen.)

It will be a net gain in VA - and the news does a good job of telling the real story in the Tidewater area. Kilgore ran a bad campaign period. Childish and many felt it was amateur hour. Through in a very popular Mark Warner, the current Governor, campaigning for Kain and the rest is history. Even so, Kilgore had a shot and blew it. My advice is never hire his campaign advisers.

Right. . .

. . .the Dems are as gracious when they win as they are in defeat.

AG is still undecided. It's so close that there will be an automatic recount. I'm praying for McDonnell.

I agree that this race was Kilgore's to lose, and he threw it away with both hands. Even if every voter who cast a ballot for Russ Potts, or who had done a write-in, had gone for Kilgore, he still would have lost.

The RNC has already taken note of who ran his campaign. I don't expect them to have much of a future in politics.

I agree. Kilgore lost because of Kilgore.

I believe that the GOP won the Attorney General's race by less than 1/10 of one percentage point, and the Lieutenant General's race by just over one percentage point. Hardly a ringing endorsement of the GOP ticket, in a state that Bush carried in 2004 by a considerable margin.

If a liberal Hillary-clone from NoVa like Leslie Byrne had won the LG's office in Virginia, that would have been a sign of the apocalypse.

She should have lost by as much as Kerry did.
