This anti-Troops/anti-war "liberal" hate group will be protesting

2.A. A GROUP FROM WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH (WBC) LOCATED IN TOPEKA, KANSAS HAS PROTESTED OR IS PLANNING TO PICKET AND PROTEST AT PUBLIC FUNERALS OF PERSONNEL KILLED IN THE WAR ON TERRORISM. THIS GROUP HAS REPORTEDLY ANNOUNCED VIA THEIR WEBSITE THAT THEY INTEND TO PROTEST FUNERALS IN ALABAMA, CALIFORNIA, DELAWARE, IOWA, IDAHO, ILLINOIS, KANSAS, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, NEW YORK, PENNSYLVANIA, WISCONSIN, AND WEST VIRGINIA.
2.B. THERE IS NO INFORMATION TO INDICATE THAT THIS GROUP PLANS ANY FORM OF VIOLENT ACTIVITY AND THEY ARE NOT KNOWN TO INITIATE PHYSICAL CONTACT. HOWEVER, THIS GROUP DOES EMPLOY PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE TECHNIQUES INTENDED TO PROVOKE A HOSTILE RESPONSE OR OFFENSIVE REACTION FROM OTHERS. THEY WILL EMPLOY WRITTEN AND VERBAL INFLAMMATORY LANGUAGE AGAINST THE DECEASED PERSON, THEIR FAMILY, AND MILITARY PERSONNEL TO ELICIT DESIRED RESPONSES. Phelps and his "activists" thank God for the killing of U.S. Soldiers... If you look up his site you will see it's nothing but intense hatred. I try to stay away from the main pages of his site, and only look at their picket information. That's still enough to make one sick...
These cretins need to experience a strong expression of free speech in the form of a major ass kicking!

I'm trying to visualize Jesus going to a funeral to protest. He wants to cause extra suffering for the grieving family in order to make a political point... hmm.. having a hard time with this one.

How can this article claim that Westboro Baptist is liberal when they pretty obviously do not adhere to any classical or localized definition of liberalism? I wouldn't call them conservative either really, except in the Burkean sense of maintaining existing social order (anti-gay).
They were here in Bedford Indiana this last weekend. (Indiana state representative Brent Steele is sponsoring a resolution to make picketing a military funeral a crime. I don't know the deatils) We ignored them. It apparently pissed them off. The papers didn't even run pictures. Huge, huge, huge, non-event

His 'logic' goes something along the lines of, "God is punishing the US for tolerating homosexuals and American soldiers deserve death for supporting a government that tolerates gays". The guy is a pariah everywhere and deservedly so.

Phelps does whatever he has to do to get attention. He first came to prominence when he somehow got the website godhatesfags.com registered. I think it has since been pulled. Phelps doesn't seem to subscribe to any particular ideaology, and certainly not to the Christian fatih, but seems to take the most outrageous stance on any topic, and watch as the fireworks begin. He's a shameless self-promoter, and has everyone believing that he is some preacher on a holy mission. He really is quite a disgusting human.
Let us say a group of men arrive in an unremarkable domestic sedan, no plates, faces covered by ski masks, baseball bats used in the assault, quick egress out of the AO.

Hudson Wi is my home town and my son was good friends with Ben, I can't believe this group WBC would do something like this to the grieving family. I hope cool heads prevail but I wouldn't be surprised if that's not the case.
There is always a whole gang of them and their tactic is to yell that the hags are pregnant so they won't get hit.
Besides that, who wants to go to jail because of that scum!

These heroes and their friends and families do not deserve to be subjected to the outrageous behavior of Phelps and his group. Please know many of us will be thinking of, and praying for all of you during his funeral services tomorrow, and that his sacrifice will not be forgotten...

at 12:45pm - 1:30 pm* outside the Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, located at 1531 Cobblestone Blvd.
*Please note two times are listed at the WBC website, but I think the time above is correct due to it being the one posted on their picket information page within the last day or so.
The above should read "during visitation for" and "during the funeral service". Apologies.
