I would get a much higher TV ratings with a live broadcast of an old-time punishment traditionally meted out to sexual offenders, namely a tree stump.
A decent size tree stump (1.5-2' diameter, of sound wood) was split [incompletely] lengthwise along its center with a wedge. The perp was made to sit on the split stump with his appendages in the slot, and then the wedge was pulled out. The perp was left to rot in the stump; the punishment was normally carried out in full public view among general rejoicing.
Just to think of what one could get from TV rights, chair rentals and concession stands on such an occasion! And for the benefit of environmentalists, the stump could be made reusable.
