Many in Jordan See Old Enemy in Attack: Israel

By MICHAEL SLACKMAN

ZARQA, Jordan, Nov. 11 - The Maktoum Mosque was crowded with worshipers for Friday Prayer as the imam sharply criticized the suicide attacks on three hotels in Amman, saying those who committed the crimes were not Muslims, no matter what they called themselves.

*snip*

While most Arabs have long viewed Israel as their enemy, the extent to which Israel weighs on the regional psyche and diverts attention away from social, political, religious and economic issues that cannot be ignored, many social and political analysts say. Blaming Israel is not just a knee jerk, they say; for many Arabs, it is their reality.

"You have to understand, Baghdad was the capital for Arabs and Muslims for 1,000 years," Mr. Masri said. "It is occupied by Americans now. Jerusalem and Baghdad are both occupied. It is too much for ordinary people to bear. If you add to it the misery that people are facing because of the lack of democracy and humiliation by their rulers, that kind of scapegoat we have to have."

The New York Times is blaming Israel "because Israel has caused a lot of grief for Arab people one way or another" for the Amman bombings. Arabs kill Arabs and blame Israel.

Arabs are the biggest losers in the history of civilization. And they will remain so.

It is shameful that the New York Times would repeat such stupidity. The sad thing is a substantial portion of the Times readership, who are not muslims but simply Democrats, probably believe such insane sentiments.

American Jews blaming Israeli Jews!!! What fools!!! When Bin Laden and his ilk come to the USA, there won't be a Jew on the New Times staff left alive. What idiots!!! Barbra Streisand and Rob Reiner will be choice food for the beheading group. How any American Jew could ever vote Democrat is beyond human comprehension!!! Go figure!!!

Well, as a conservative, Republican Jew, I join you in not understanding how any Jew can vote Democrat. The only rational I can suggest is that we Jews have a tendency to like playing the victim role. After 2000 years of being oppressed, you would figure we would know who our real enemies are. Unfortunately, those Jews that do (like myself) are still a minority. Although I am happy in the progress we have made. Every 4 years the Republican Jewish vote has gone up about 5% from 11% in 1992 to 24% in 2004. If we can continue to get 5% per year, hopefully we are looking at the Republicans getting 1/3 of the Jewish vote by 2012. Ill take slow, but gradual progress.

Hmmm. The first thing I thought of when I read that part of the sentance that you posted was:

"Ape has killed Ape!"

I know that's bad. Sorry.

Speaking as an "American Jew", I can tell you first-hand that there are a huge number of non-religious, self-hating Jews (and not just in the U.S.A.)

"It just shows how hopeless these people are. They have no capacity to think for themselves."

Much of the problem is the limited sources of information that they have. Look at what happened in the US with the monopoly position that the MSM had on mass media for 50 years, and multiply it by a factor of 10.

Soooo, if Muslims repeat the mantra "It is the will of Allah!" during tragedies like Hurricane Katrina, what is his answer for his the deplorable state of Muslim nations?

I bet that logic would fry his brain.

Imagine the problems we could have in the world if Americans were ruled by mindless primitive tribal instincts from the stone age, with access to nuclear weapons.

I can see it now.
We can't "bear" the thought of subhumans, animals-on-two-legs occupying our religious holy places; places like Nazareth, or Bethlehem. What must we do? Why, terrorize them indiscriminently, of course. Nuke them all to the stone age. What's stopping us?

Oh. We're not mindless ignorant killer savages from the stone age. Right. That why we were able to develop nuclear weapons and they can't. They can only steal technology and ideas, like they've been doing over 1200 years now.
We must try to understand what "drives" them They don't know better. Well, no. I don't have to.

Keep coming... and keep dying.
