Ping
Good post Bob!! I remember a better world too, with better men and women in it. Today's world is filled with new things but it's poor recompense for the loss of their company.
Its hard to believe that this country took Juno essentially by themselves at Normandy. I think this veteran's comments are very noble. I wonder how he feels about their countries refusal to participate in our missile defense program?
This is so true ... much has changed here since '68.
And while we can win a Presidency; they seem to be winning the larger war for the soul of our Country.
Amen, and heartfelt thanks to our noble brethren to the north.
Red Ensign Canada, what a noble country. Too bad western Canada doesn't push to leave the country and take the old Red Ensign as their flag. The world would stand up an cheer.
The modern Canada is also reviseing the history of WWII to show that the Allies were as brutal and cruel as the Nazis. The revisoins include showing the suffering of the Germans and the Japanese at the hands of Canadians and calls into question whether Canadian military leaders should be tried as war criminals. The current generation of Canadian historians holds the WWII generation in contempt.
Canada Ping!
Please FReepmail me to get on or off this Canada ping list.
We'll have to do more than hope, I'm afraid!
Still, it is hard to see exactly what we can do to reverse the wasting socialist disease which has weakened Canada to the point where we are scarcely capable of self-defense. The sheeple love their Liberal masters, and are still unlikely to toss them out, except possibly for an even worse crowd. It is as if acknowledgment of Liberal corruption entails acknowledgment of one's own weaknesses and moral failings, and that is something self-righteous and smug Canuckleheads simply will not do.

Isn't that a beautiful flag?!! Thanks for posting.
Please include me.
Terribly sad. Here's hoping the Canada Mr. Twiss fought for returns someday.
Wanna see some Canadian liberals at their "best"?
Browse some of the comments at www.canadaka.net and see what they have to say about us. It's pretty revealing.
And sad.

Better link, sorry.
One of the problems is undoubtedly far too many immigrants taken in far too quickly with separate development under multiculturalism.
The way I see things is that the English Canadian elites with United Empire Loyalist roots who are in positions of power or influence on shaping culture have always been consistent in its opposition to the United States. It is right from Sir John A. MacDonald's times or I would say even from the days of the Treaty of Paris. This overlapped with and reinforced their loyalty to Britain in the days of the Empire of which the sun never set. Not everyone buys into the vision - some believe they serve the good cause of fighting for liberal (using the Euroepan definition) values and others believe they are fighting for God, King, and the Country.
In fact as long as the British Empire was still existing and Britain maintained a bystander position in terms of supporting or opposing US foreign policy Canada (sepaking as the government) felt safe to follow Britain. The coming of the Special Relationship shattered Canadian elites' path. So the United Nation becomes the "new Brtish Empire" in which the Realm (as does New Zealand) conducts its businesses. Spirit of military preparedness becomes the collatoral sacrifice.
Socialists in English Canada and far-leftist federalists in Quebec are just the pawns of this tiny group of English Canadian elites in Ontario. As to ordinary Canadians, well, most are obedient students of the "teachers" - if they have questions, shower them with beautiful oratories and they will be pacified.
This is the reality that is Canada today.
