What do Iraqi parents think? Here is what a colleague in Iraq wrote last feb 5th
[i've made corrections in brackets-- otherwise his
typos etc are
there; he emails in an internet cafe and is very
rushed]
DEAR STEVE THE FAIR [fear] IS AWAY ANDI TOOK ALL
FAMILY FOR ELECTION EVEN THEIR IS A THREAT OF BOMBS
AND TERREIST BUT NEVER THE LESS WE WENT AND VOTE AT
THE END IT IS BEATIFULL TO FELL [feel] FREE TO CHOOSE
WHAT ONE THINK IT IS WRIGHT [right], WE THANKS US
[thats United States by the way] FOR THAT AND HOPE TO
KEEP HELPING IRAQI PEOPLE IN PROCCESS OF DEMOCRACE
WITH OUT US [United States!] WE WILL RETUR BACK TO
DENGIN [dangerous?] AND DARK AGES .WE ARE SAFE FOR
TIME BEING HOPING THE SITUATION WILL BE IMPROVED .

I guess some people appreciate what our Marines, soldiers, airmen & sailors have sacrificed for!!
I think he meant "dungeon" when he said "dengin."
Whoever wrote those things is extremely insightful.
