Once it gets past noon, I'm gonna pop 3 cold ones - in honor of the SAS! Y'know, Tex, my philosophy is that somewhere, somehow, it noon some place on this earth.
Cheers!

ok 4 things.
1: Dawn of the Dead? do only headshots drop jihadist zombies?
2: GREAT JOB!
3: I wonder how many mud hutts that bullet went through before it finally stopped? I bet it just kept going until it hit the nearest mountain!
4: Way to instill the fear of god into those bastards!

This kind of story makes my day. Thanks!
To: Ainast
do only headshots drop jihadist zombies? As I understand it, the desired aimpoint is the brainstem, which is about the size of an apricot. Only a bullet placed there will immediately and completely incapacitate a terrorist so that he is unable to trigger an explosive device.

Dilbert,
Didn't mean that the SAS should go in, I thought a laser guided munition through the window. This business of sparing bad guys or their neighbors is very old and comes back to bite us in the Arss all the time.

They usually come from folks who were brought up with guns and an appreciation of guns.
Not so, Starfish. I happen to know several ( now former ) members of the SAS and none of them came from gunslinging backgrounds.
A win for the good guys bump!

I read about this yesterday on another thread that had this cool graphic showing the "team" configuration. Whew, I'm glad I keep my nose clean since I STILL haven't received my container of SMAW-NE urban burp guns.
Check out post # 36 he has it posted, truly awe inspiring.

Sounds like it would make an excellent deer hunting rifle though.

The soldiers, liaising earlier with their commanders, had considered the option of entering the house and killing the terrorists - but that plan was regarded as too dangerous. The confines of the house would intensify the impact of any blast, killing everyone inside. Read slowly (and stop with this is a PC war BS!).
The concern was over causalities for those on OUR side (SAS specifically) - Meaning if the "go" was given on a direct assault / raid and one of the bombers inside managed to detonate themselves it would have the chance / probability of killing the SAS operators conducting the assault.

Well, it's not as if the bombers' dispositions had altered themselves at all. In fact, they never knew the difference.
That's gotta put a little "hesitancy" and damper into future suicide bomber activities.
