$1.95 in Indianapolis yesterday, but there was one couple stations on the S.Side selling for $1.77
LOL - you just need to move!
I forgot....how much was it a year ago??
I paid $2.59 in Delray Beach, Fl yesterday.
"I forgot....how much was it a year ago??"
well of course, just like this year it depended on where you live...
but if memory serves it was about a buck and half a gallon last year...
But...but...according to NBC/Today gas prices are 'soaring'!!!
At the rate we're going, we may end up back where we were last spring -- when I paid $1.99 per gallon for 93-octane.
I remember the same prices. My mom would drive up to the pumps and ask the attendant for $ 2.00 of regular. This would fill her tank. Also went home with some nifty steak knives.
Yes, I saw that at the pump here in Georgia. Yes, tell a liberal, it's all Bush's fault, and watch em cry. Boo Hoo.
I remember my parents paying about .27 cents ...and they checked your oil, cleaned your windsheild, pumped your gas and you never got out of your car.
If the "big oil companies" were making such "obscene" profits on high gas prices, why on earth would they be allowing the price to fall? If people were begrudgingly paying close to $3 per gallon, why wouldn't big oil want to keep the price that high just to squeeze the consumer more and rake in even more filthy profits? /sarcasm
When you get good ski mountains and get rid of the humidity in Atlanta, let me know. Otherwise I'll pay the extra quarter and stay put! ;o)
The other thing I use to enjoy that they don't have today is the small rubber tube that would make a ding dong noise when you ran over it to alert the attendant that there was a customer out front.
I liked riding my bike over it to make the attendant come out and then I would ride away.
Learned many good swear words from the attendants.
Take state and federal gas tax off and it will really fall.
While working as an attendant (remember them? Check under the hood, sir?) in the 60's, 2 bucks worth was a common order. Gulftane was .29 9/10 in NYC.
Maybe now's the time for another House vote, this one for adding a federal tax on fuel, as EcoDemocrats want, to keep the price high to spark conservation to save the planet.
Heck, you can always move back to Alberta if you start to miss the $3/gal prices. LOL
BTW, Canada doesn't deserve to have such a beautiful and prosperous province. I think we need to make it part of Montana. ;o)
Don't worry -- it isn't part of Canada. It's just Alberta to a lot of us. LOL.
It's God's country, to be sure. That and BC (minus Vancouver).
$1.79 in Shawnee Oklahoma (but you have to drive a few miles off of the interstate to find it--otherwise, anywhere from $1.82 to $1.92)
My mom told me they saw it for about $1.80 in Indianapolis on Saturday night (don't know what location in the city, probably the southside)
