$1.939 in Sapulpa Okla.
Now how about we merge Exxon with GM.
That way every time the gas price is raised, it immediately impacts sales of the car division - as yet more former customers flee to small imported alternatives, and the company as a whole quickly concludes that BOTH divisions have a vested interest in finding some new, innovative choices for consumers?...
Nah. What a ridiculous idea. Sorry.
She probably would say it WAS Bush's fault. He let Big Oil gouge for a year or so, now he's directed them to lower prices prior to the 2006 election season.
We paid $1.92 per gallon last night in Xenia OH, then got to deduct another 8 cents off that price with out Marathon credit card. Other stations in the Dayton area are selling gas at $1.86 per gallon.
There should be a 'democrats are deeply saddened' after the title. If gas prices are falling they can't bloviate about it.
I remember friends scrounging to get a quarter, so we could 'cruise' without parents knowing how far we went.
I remember $.19 per gallon plus a glass or some other kind of premium. We had an entire set of "Bengals" glasses when they meant something!
Lord have mercy! there's a place named 'Democrat, North Carolina'. That must be a commune or something...
Thanks a mil for the gasbuddy link!
If this is the result of congress pulling in the oil heads for a grilling I'll be pissed.
Down the Jersey Shore it averages about $1.83 gal for regular.
Should go lower, but a cold snap will rebound the energy index (crude, NG, gas). The market is about 20% reality, 20% hedge, and 60% psychological.
But these new low prices will put the mom and pop refineries out of business. These companies don't care about their employees, and pay them lower wages and poorer benefits than thier mom and pop counterparts, and their product is made from non free range inferior dinosaurs....
Oh wait, is this the Walmart thread??? Where am I??
$1.87 here in southern Ohio :-)
when will congress investigate the collusion between the oil companies that are driving down prices to prevent new companies from entering the market.
It already is here in Atl. I paid $1.98 yesterday.
Good for you! Now quit rubbing salt in my wound! LOL
My local ARCO I WA state was $2.21 yesterday. Expect it to go down another $.15 by Christmas.
"but do you remember .32 a gallon?"
Still waiting for it to be 13 cents a gallon again like it was when I was in high school or even 26 cents a gallon that I was paying in 1974 until the gas crunch.
Someone's dumping on the market. This calls for a bipartisan commission to be set up to independently investigate possible wrongdoing.
