Lots of stuff here. IMO this was the only way that Weldon would get the time of day in front of Congress on AD; to strike a deal with state-mate Murtha. Incidentally, has CSPAN aired the 47-minute Weldon AD presentation (taped on ~11/8) yet?
But on the other hand, I think Weldon was sincere when he praised Murtha's service, which I, and everyone, should also do. We just disagree with Murtha's plan. Now the Murtha side is spinning the definition of "immediate."
On a third hand, Weldon is also part of the Main Street Soros GOP group that scrapped ANWR, so he needs to distance himself from that. Good pub on AD may do that.
It's a damn shame that all this spinning has to go on when all we want is the TRUTH!
Darned good post. And I agree with each of your points. And all.
