See: Syria to allow U.N. to question officials
U.S. Ambassador John Bolton accused Syria on Tuesday of "delaying and obstructing" an investigation into the assassination of Lebanon's former prime minister and demanded that Damascus allow six Syrian officials to be questioned.

Bolton said a resolution adopted by the U.N. Security Council on Oct. 31 was very clear in demanding "full and immediate Syrian cooperation" with the investigation led by German prosecutor Detlev Mehlis. It warned Syria of possible "further action" if it refuses to cooperate with the probe, which has been extended until Dec. 15.

"We support Mehlis' investigative efforts, and we're not going to second-guess his techniques or his tactics," Bolton told several reporters. "But we are going to say clearly to the Syrians that they need to stop delaying and obstructing Mehlis' work."

"Isn't Bush a RINO? /sarcasm"

Nope, not exactly. Bush is just moderate enough to confuse the heck out of a sane conservative.

We definitely need to raise cain over every blasted dime going to the UN. Definitely. We need to undermine and henpeck that organization into obscurity. I wish we could just cut it off, but it's difficult to say how much they could sabotage our economy if we don't slice them up incrementally. It's always good that citizens call for a complete cut-off, but that appears to be the big picture.

"Palpatine was the man responsible for knocking over the Galactic Senate, the Star Wars equivalent to the UN."

That's a great way of looking at it. Now to convince George Lucas. =[

Bolton - may he live and long effective life! I will always remember and respect what he said about Clinton's disgustingly evil bombing of the Serbs in the lare 90s:

"What we did was bomb innocent civilian Serbs into the ground in order that the Albanians can come back and ethnically cleanse the Serbs' relatives out of what's left of Kosovo."

Which is exactly what the Muslim Albanians have done! Bolton was right then and he is right about any matter of international diplomacy now!

No relation to Michael Bolton, who was once booed off the mound for butchering the national anthem at Candlestick Park.

3.6Billion for peacekeeping? They still have all their original bullets, so I guess it is the local bar tab.

Now if he can resist pressure form the namby pambies in this country and hold firm

Bolton doesn't work for the namby pambies of this country. He works for President Bush. I hope he remembers that.

Among Annan's management proposals, key to the United States, are the creation of an ethics office, an oversight body, enhanced auditing and investigation and independent external evaluations.

Sound's dangerous and ominous if you read between the lines.
The liberal mindset is murderous and facist.

You don't get it, Tread. The Republicans who 'cave' are represented by people like Voinovich who CRIED when Bolton was nominated.

Stop painting us all with one brush, OK? Bolton's a tough guy. And he, thanks to the WISDOM and TOUGHNESS of our President, is in a position of power, and can actually do something about the sordidness of the UN.

You should be happy............if you're ever happy..........which I think you're not........unfortunately for you........

You are an idealist. I am a realist.

The UN will get funded. The UN will receive $$$BILLIONS$$$ for the IMF and World Bank. This is a swiss cheese threat that does not scare any UN member but gives them fodder for chuckles.

If Bush and Bolton were serious, they woudl not be threatening to "withhold dues" but would be seriously drafting plans for the USA ending its involvement with the UN and for putting up the UN real estate ont the auction block.

Re President Bush's ""WISDOM and TOUGHNESS" (your caps), what is your take on Bush asking to "reach out to Iran" to help with "insurgents"? You call that wisdom and "tough"? If Teddy Roosevelt, Harry Truman or Ronald Reagan had Iran building IEDs killing our troops, of all the responses that they would have taken, not one would have been a "reaching out".

Your love and adoration of the RNC is a thing of wonderment. But, you realism factor is pegged at the zero line.

I don't either 'love' or 'adore' the RNC. Your penchant for errant hyperbole is quite remarkable. Did you miss my comment about Voinovich's tears because of your reading difficulties, or was it a deliberate attempt to misinterpret what I was saying?

Once again, I don't rely on the MSM for my information about anything, so I don't make assumptions about what the administration is doing in Iran based on what I read on Yahoo.com.

Therein lies our difference, Tread.

btw, you have never answered my question as to why you trust the MSM more than you trust our military sources about Iraq. Why do you? Will you ever answer that, or will you continue to evade the question?
