Ah, I see.
The President should take foreign policy advice from the Junior Senator from Illinois barely in his first term.
No thanks.
Last time he took advice from your party we got Miers. He's better off when he listens to the base that got him elected than the cut and run squadron on the Left that lost 'Nam. Even better than us, he listens to the forces on the ground that actually know what's going on vs the propaganda organs of this country writing their fictionalized accounts to brainwash the masses about our successes.

High profile isn't an editorial comment. That's somewhat subjective in terms of the absolute meaning of the words 'high profile', but it's certainly true that Obama has gotten a whole lot more press then, say, Richard Burr.
Saying he's high quality, or something like that, that would be editorial comment. But merely pointing out that the guy has been widely talked about and discussed more so then other freshman senators is a fact.

Apologize for winning? No way. Apologize for freeing millions? No way. For helping create a democracy? No way. For saving people from mass graves? No way. For getting rid of a sadistic tyrant? No way.
Frankly, I'm tired of this mantra from the losing Left that we're losing when we are hitting some pretty high milestones in Iraq. Every time they say we've botched the Iraq war or we can't win I cringe and think about how our soldiers must fee and what they must think--it's not in the abstract when they say we're losing--they may as well say the SOLDIERS ARE LOSING. grrrr!
They're nervous now because victory in Iraq is on the horizon, just around the corner and so are the 2006 elections.

Last time I heard from Obama he was sent to campaign for Byrd's jeopardized Senate seat.
For all hype about this guy, he doesn't seem to have been able to parlay it into power. He gains absolutely no traction. Good or bad. I've listened to him, fluff speeches. He doesn't seem to come across as speaking more than general rhetoric. For a guy that was to be the new JFK Jr. I'm not, so far, impressed.
I'd agree with your reasoning why he was trotted out.

OsamaObamaOsama..how about asking the clintons for some "straight talk" on Able Danger? We sure could have used some of those "unanswered questions" back in the 90s.

He maintained that Bush could take politics out of the Iraq discussion "once and for all if he would simply go on television and say to the American people: 'Yes, we made mistakes. Or, we could take politics out of the issue if the Dem's would stop turning it into a political issue.

Sure, Bush should admit his mistakes. Right after Obama admits that he and virtually all of his Donkey colleagues are basically craven demagogues who value their worthless careers over the future and safety of their own country.

Sen. Barack Obama said President Bush should admit mistakes in waging the Iraq war and reduce the number of troops stationed there in the next year. Just curious. Anyone know this guy's military background?

My, my, little Osama, Ted "The Swimmer" called him that, is certainly full of himself, isn't he? Is he Muslim like his father was?
To: jmc1969
Yet another liberal screaming about mistakes without the courage or intelligence to even point out what the mistakes were and certainly no courage to suggest something better.

Obama should STFU.
When Dubya was making the hard decisions and playing the game required by the UN mopes (37 gazillion meaningless resolutions), Obama was a 4th rate back bench NOBODY sitting around picking his nose in the IL General Assembly.
