Only six had time to actually read the intelligence reports!

And what did those senators say in the debate over the war resolution, and how did they vote?

Bahbah, did you see this letter tombeverly posted? He answers the anti-victory gang better than I could ever hop to:

Thanksgiving Letter to the President
Posted on 11/25/2005 1:41:48 AM PST by tomnbeverly
Sir,
On this Thanksgiving Day I feel it is appropriate to thank the person who has been holding Freedoms light in the world for 5 years now. Over the course of your presidency I have learned that perspective is an interesting dilemma in politics and a serious challenge for leadership. It is history that judges the decisions of every man and a man that follows his heart and is true to the ideals of this great experiment, that we call a democracy, can rest easy that history will judge him kindly and correctly.
In my mind it is clear no one should forget or dismiss the more than 3,000 American citizens who were brutally murdered on 9/11/01. Murdered because of an ideology of hate towards our way of life. Murdered by an enemy that was given years of time to grow strong and like a cancer penetrate the nations of the world. If we as a people do not learn the lessons that those brave souls gave the ultimate sacrifice to teach us then we are doomed to repeat the mistakes that allowed the atrocity to happen in the first place and happen again it shall.
Those with the perspective that Americas current policy in Iraq is wrong have forgotten or have become misguided in their thought because of the simple truth that the "enemy of my enemy are my allies" regardless of what intelligence sources linked or did not link Saddam Hussein to Al-Qaeda. Many say Saddam was being kept in a box and was not an imminent threat. However, the Oil for Food investigation proved the truth that this ruthless dictator was gaming the United Nations through bribes and corruption to empower his quest to strike back at the United States. Before 9/11 the box around Iraq with our enforced "No Fly Zones", UN inspectors, U.S. military presence in the region gave the appearance of being strong enough to contain him however the main lesson learned post 9/11/01 was that it was our "Failure to Imagine the Threat" that left us the most vulnerable to it.
So America went on the offensive to combat terrorism, no longer would we fail to imagine the threat and as I am sure you rationalized early on what greater threat than a known ruthless dictator who had a history of using WMD's on his own people, failing to comply with sanctions, failing to disclose his weapons, smack in the middle of the Arab world surrounded by various factions that followed the ideology of hate and terror and claimed a Jihad on the United States.
So you acted, we acted and we are winning this Global War on Terror so why would the support wane? How could Americans be lulled back to sleep after a call to action? Well, that is the dilemma of perspectives in politics. My guess is the liberals found their voice during the election year and without regard to the damage that they could do to long term National Security policy here at home and in the world at large, they went on stage and played Monday morning quarterback, second guessing our military leaders, accusing you of lies and miss-truths and then after the election they continued on spitefully, in some cases, in attempt to undermine the very actions that have saved so many of us from what ultimately would have been another attack on America.
Hindsight is 20/20 but foresight is all that really matters. Thank you Sir, for having the foresight to keep America safe and for your steadfast courage in the face of adversity for following through with the mission. May God bless you, and your family this holiday season.
Thank You.
Sincerely, Thomas Webb USN (RET) Veteran of OIF/OEF

This deserves it's own thread! Didn't Rockefeller say on Tony Snow that he didn't have time to read the reports?
