I just can't wait for all the bad guys to line up and turn in their guns once this ban goes into effect..of course, the law of unintended consequences kicks in and in a year the liberals will be at a loss to explain the increase of gun related homicides/burglaries/muggings since no one is supposed to have a gun except police, special security AND the bad guys who will obviously ignore this and start watering at the mouth over all the unarmed, and thus unable to protect themselves, civilians walking around..

What a great philosophy of government.
The Gun Registry in Canada was supposed to have cost a few million to implement. They've now spent around 2 Billion (yes with a B) and cannot point demonstrably to a single crime that has been prevented as a result.
And, although the murder rate is higher in the USA, the overall violent crime rate in Canada is higher than in the US.

This will be hard on anti-gun groups on this side of the border. NRA membership will go up. People on the fence will get a clear message, close to home.
