Some signs are writtten in english, most, if you notice, are in Persian.
However, they want the world to see and get the message, too. So, english is a good choice, don't you think?

"I used to hope that the Iranians were pro-American and coming to their senses... but after seeing how their last elections went and how things continue to go downhill there, I have lost all hope for them."

You seem to be confused. The '(S)elections' were orchestrated by the hardliners. Even the reformists in the gov't know they were crooked.
Pro-American Iranians have already come to their senses, that's why they're pro-American and anti-regime.
The way to get rid of the threat of nukes problem, is to help the Iranian people get rid of the regime.

America is more popular in Iran and Iraq than America is in some quarters of America.

Are your students 'really' ready? Are they 'really' willing? Are they 'really' able?

Do they BELIEVE in the ability of liberty to triumph?

Can I ask you a question? On your homepage you have this quote..."I think we should never forgive 'Carter' for his dirty deeds, he is one of the main reasons for all miseries of Iran and the USA in the past 26 years!!!"....please tell me more. I would like to know what freedom loving Iranians think about Carter.

Also, do you now live in Iran?

"As you can see I am not a secularist. I am however a student of war. Some very very sharp people are doing everything possible to prevent wholesale destruction and slaughter in Iran. The most formidable of these people is George W. Bush.

Things are going to get worse before they get better. I wish it were not so. You and your friends are on the right track. Take care of yourselves as much as possible. Your people need you.

By the way you ARE free. Freedom is in the heart first. Justice comes afterward."

Those are beautiful words.

Your profile had me in tears. There are great people throughout history who understand that human dignity and potential flourish when they are free. You are one of those people. You are a leader. I will keep you in my prayers. May God direct you and protect you that the desires of your heart, for they are righteous, will be yours.

"I used to hope that the Iranians were pro-American and coming to their senses... but after seeing how their last elections went and how things continue to go downhill there, I have lost all hope for them." I'm sorry. Did I read that correctly? You trusted the Iranian election returns? Perhaps you believe that 99% of the Iraqi populace intended to vote for Saddam in 2002. And perhaps you believe that the two truckloads of counterfeit ballots that just came out of Iran are the first ones the ever exist in Iran.

Never, ever lose faith in the human desire for freedom. Especially not when the reasons for losing that faith are supported by evidence as paper-thin as the election returns you cited.

East Germany, too. This sort of thing was going on right before the Wall came down.

The U.S. State Department and the CIA should be doing EVERYTHING possible to assure a successful revolution in Iran and destruction of the Ayatollahs by dissident Iranians.

If not, we are facing a future nuclear war with a regime of suicidal fanatics.

Thanks for posting these pics. I for one believe that change in Iran is best served by change from within.

That way the leadership can not appeal to Iranian patriotism to repel foreign invaders

I kind of wonder if it was like Communism. A religious state might have seemed like a good idea at the time. The reality just turned out to not be all it was cracked up to be.

He is the most hated man in Iran after Khomeini!

Believe me, every one hates him for not supporting our king during the revolution

Coffee is banned in Iran? I always thought that you have something equivalent to a 'Turkish coffee', i.e. powdered grounds and not filtered.

"...We have been trying hard not to use Arabic words within the Persian language but it is so hard! ...."

Doesn't official Iranian language (Farsi) use the Western alphabet, rather than Arabic script? Just curious. Why are all the protesters' signs in Arabic?
