I don't mind the way they voted. I look forward to the debate, the amending, and eventually the extension of the Patriot Act.

It is the democratic process at work, and frankly - I like to think that the Patriot Act is not a permanent fixture in our laws. I shudder to think how the Democrats might put the Patriot Act to work for them.

I agree. It's better that the Patriot Act is required to be renewed periodically.

Imagine what Hillary or John Kerry could do with it!

Agreed. Way too much power concentrated in the hands of the government. If Clintons used the IRS to go after critics what would they use the Patriot Act for...Certainly no good.

The problem is not the lack of weapons by the government, the problem is too many cover ups and incompetent leaders.
