Nice time for everybody to take a long Christmas break. And laws that impose fines rather than jail time never scare anybody. All it does is lower the amount available for political contributions from the union funds. Hey, what a great idea!

Maybe more scooter purchases for the heavyer people could be in order. I bet "The Scooter Store" (as seen on TV) is doing bang-up business!
Or maybe the NYC "elites" could buy those two-wheeled things that you stand up on and ride (what are they called?).

Bloomberg could be a life time mayor...
True, if by "lifetime" you mean two terms pursuant to the term limits of the office.

Yes, I am afraid the union does have the city by the short hairs. It is an illegal strike.
The solution is as simple as President Reagan smashing the ATC strike way back when...
Fire every one of the corrupt and/or greedy union thug bastards.

I'd say pull a Reagan....fire the lot of them and replace them...to heck with the fines. Good and bad solution...
GOOD, because, unlike the highly knowledgeable professionals required to be Air Traffic Controllers (months to YEARS of training and experience necessary), we can probably train some monkeys to drive buses & trains, and have children sell tokens & tickets (just like girl scouts selling cookies).
BAD, because it probably won't happen given the politics in The Peoples Republic of NY. A liberal RINO mayor and governor don't have the BALLS that a great man like President Reagan had.

How can someone with the name "RAMBO" in their screen name be offended by mere WORDS?
As is often said about perpetually offended, overly sensitive demonrats...

subway cleaners earn about $40,000. You've got to be SH*TTING me!
They are drowning in poverty aren't they(/sarcasm).
Yeah, just like the poor inner-city New Orleans victims of Katrina, the striking union thugs look so EMACIATED and UNDERNOURISHED. (/sarcasm)

LOL! (I can laugh -- I'm in Boston!) If you are a conservative and live in The Peoples Republic of Boston, I don't see what there is to laugh about.
Like most northeastern cities, it is run by liberals, and has a large number of union thugs. This type of strike could easily happen in your liberal LA-LA-Land as well.

There is going to be tremendous grid lock in NYC today. To all of us who don't live, and don't care to live, in the Peoples Republic of NYC, WHO CARES, braggart?

Ah, didn't know they had term limits up yonder. I'm surprised that a liberal city has term limits.
