Are these Rat candidates going to come up with something new as far as being former military, no they are going to traipse out the same old message, ala Kerry, Murtha, Clark, etc.

They may have served there country but that dose not make them shoe in candidates.

They will only embarrass themselves for trying to look strong while aligning themselves with the weak.

Tim Leveigh would make a great candidate for the Left. He was a Gulf War vet. Oh wait. he's dead. At least they can count on his vote, at least twice.

How can any self-respecting veteran be a Democrat?

The populist appeal of veterans in this country goes back to President Andrew Jackson(D) in this country, at the least. What does ambition have to do with self-respect in the world's second oldest profession?

Veterans in other countries have worn their service on their sleeves too many times to count. Chavez and Hitler should ring a bell.

Didn't work out too well for Gen. "Ashley" Clark, who arrogantly and mistakenly viewed himself as the second coming of Dwight Eisenhower.

Juan Peron too, I suppose.

Just more hypocrisy.

Since when were the dems worried about hypocrisy?

As a Christian-conservative-and Republican (in that order) retired Air Force guy, I would take exception to that. Sell it to the Army; the Air Force isn't buying! :-)

Doesn't make you a patriot, either.

I'm beginning to believe that the vast majority of real patriotic Americans do not have either a "D" or an "R" tattooed on the arses.

Somebody ought to inform these vets - Liberal Dems HATE the military.

They will really have to be tough on security and illegals. Any whiff of softness and they will be tarred with the Sheehan brush.

I think the Rats want the House because that is where Impeachments begin!

I think that's part of it. I think they also recognize how weak they have appeared on national security.

Liberal Dems HATE the military.

That's part of their problem. How many dems are not liberal or progressive?

From the Marines, I can only think of John Glenn and John Murtha.

Jon Corzine is a former marine, as is also former mayor David Dinkins.

Another strong argument against restarting the draft.

Nice statement. We had this former mayor of my town die recently. She was a Dem (maybe of the "old" guard) and you could hardly find one more patriotic. She did whatever she could to make the city a better place--whether it was preserving something, putting on plays, bringing in more businesses, etc. She didn't really have a political agenda other than to make the city better. Curiously, they had a Christmas Festival in held in honor of her at a musuem. On display were some of her many treasured Christmas decorations. Her favorite? The patriotic tree that she put up every year.

Too bad there are too many dems out there who seem beholden to the very far left. They could have learned a thing or two from the former mayor.

"Real" people don't need an R or a D after their names, they do things because it's just the "right" thing to do.
