Come on... "TV generally appeals only to ignorant slobs? I might say the same thing about Rock music, and when I said that you'd think (rightly) that I was an ignorant idiot to condemn stuff I've admittedly not seen or heard enough to appreciate.
There's good stuff on TV. 24 is one... South Park (if you're not easily offended by vulgarity) is another. There's almost always Seinfeld episodes running somewhere and those are always good. Admittedly, other than those exceptions, you do have to wade through a lot of crap, it's not the ~genre~ that is flawed.
Husband and I are totally getting into Family Guy and the Borat character on the Ali G show. We love to laugh, and by laugh I mean crying laugh together where you almost wet yourself. It is just not the same if we are not together.
We still like South Park. We like Bernie Mac and I am sure we will enjoy the Everyone Hates Chris by Chris Rock.
We both also love LOST. The only drama ever we have both liked.
I still like reality TV. He hates it.
OH and I love NIP TUCK. Husband refuses to watch as should most people. It is just a sinister humor show trying to be a drama that a few of my gal friends watch also. We enjoy it. LOL
I have really gotten to liking 'Bones' and 'House' on Fox. Both of those shows have been pretty good. Other than that, about the only thing I watch on TV is Battlestar Galactica and Stargate on Sci-Fi channel.
Excerpt: TV shows generally appeal to the ignorant slobs of America. Never forget that the crotch-grabbing pukish pig Roseanne had a #1 show.
Now let's think about this. Yes, Rosanne is a pukish slob. Yes, her show was rated #1. For all the people who watched this pig and helped make that show #1, I would say that is a lot of ignorant slobs.
Can you argue with that slice of my comment?
