NBC's Surface seems to have sunk. It couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a kiddie show with the young lad befriending the sea creature or an adult adventure program. It didn't matter. It was bad.

Threshold seems to have disappeared from the line up, as well.

Lost lost me. It went from the sublime to the ridiculous. I'd hate to ever be a castaway with that dumb bunch of characters. By the start of season 3, they still had not searched the 'island', but they had built a couple of escape rafts, etc. They had no idea whether a booming, bustling city was on the other side of the island, because they were too busy fighting amongst themselves for the alpha-male position.

West Wing got moved to somewhere -- weekend, I think. It is so bad now, that no one cares who gets elected. West Wing probably won't see another full season.

Law and Order: Trial by Jury lasted some 6 episodes before it got yanked.

Next season, supposedly the new genre is live in the aftermath of the fall of the USA. Three or four such series are supposedly planned. Maybe the networks should review and study the aftermath of the fall of the major media.

Threshold was an interesting little show. They showed 10 eps even though they filmed 13. I guess the DVD version will have "The lost episodes".

Seems like the three major alphabet networks all tried a "sci fi" show of some type this season. "Threshold" on CBS, "Surface" on NBC and "Invasion" on ABC. When will networks learn to leave Sci Fi to the cable and syndication producers. Sci Fi almost never works for broadcast companies. It's such a niche genre that you have to get right, or it dies under the weight of it's own production costs.

"Threshold" has indeed been cancelled by CBS. "Surface" has been given the go ahead to complete the first season, and will re-appear on NBC Monday nights starting next week.

Lost lost me. ... By the start of season 3, they still had not searched the 'island'...

Uh, pardon me, where and when do you live that you've seen the start of "Lost", Season 3? Here in the U.S., December of 2005, the show is midway through Season 2.
