I belonged to AARP for over 15 years and dropped my membership when it came due this year. These people are the most self centered people in the country and I would hate to think I was so selfish. They only care about themselves and could care less if they leave this nation broke as long as they get their big kickbacks from the companies they do business with. The only future they care about is their own and they only represent people with big bucks not the poor and needy on SS. I personally on my own can beat any deal they offer just researching on the computer. Unfortunately it is about what they make at the expense of those they represent. I challenge anyone that belongs to the organization to do their own research on the items AARP offers and I will bet they can find better deals individually around their own hometown. AARP just funnels money left and right to its directors one way or the other and they are more of a Liberal Political Machine than anything else.

AARP's deals are not that great.

Most hotels also also use AAA for the same rates.

I agree...With a little research, one does not need AARP.

"They only care about themselves and could care less if they leave this nation broke..."

I think you mean they could NOT care less, etc. etc.

And, if that is what you mean, then I fully agree.
