They reported what the governor announced.The governor was in the church with the families when they started cheering. He asked them what was happening and they reported it to him. On his way to the command center to confirm the story, reporters stuck microphones in his face to get a soundbite.
Don't blame the governor. Don't blame mine officials. This is purely a media-created story due to rumor and unsubstantiated information.
