That really is quite rude to mispronounce the candidates name.

I have to assume it is done on purpose because the Swimmer has had ample time to figure out how to say ALITO.

In his mind, the two phrases are synonymous.

Orca just call Alito Al Lee Oh Tow!

Kennedy probably got Alito mixed up with some mobster the Kennedys knew.

My sentiments too. This whole theatric performance reminds me of the Pygmies tying down Gulliver.

does anyone have a link to any story on Eleanor Clift's column a few months ago, advising the Dems NOT to filabuster Alito ...

Nov. 4, 2005 - Democrats shouldn't filibuster Samuel Alito's nomination to the Supreme Court unless he really bungles the hearings. The votes aren't there, and moderates don't have the stomach for an all-out war over spousal notification. By a margin of nearly 3-to-1 according to a Pew Research Center poll, the public sides with the position Alito took in 1991 when he upheld as constitutional a provision in a Pennsylvania law that required women to notify their husbands before obtaining an abortion.

Alito is not a wild-eyed originalist who channels the Founding Fathers, but he is very conservative and will vote with Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas.

Eleanor Clift's column a few months ago, advising the Dems NOT to filabuster Alito, to wait for the NEXT nominee

Smart woman (on that observation)...God I can't believe I ever said that about her. But she is right...if the nuke option happens the next nominee could get through easily, Judge Brown.

Hehehe. Not exactly. But it is useful to understand opposition use of terms in order to avoid arguments of sophistry, and in order to win arguments on the merits.
