It's all about abortion. I love watching the libs panic. I think the reason the usual suspects in the House have been floating impeachment of GWB is because they are scared to death that another SCOTUS justice (a real lib) will either retire or die and then the game will be up if GWB/Cheney get the chance to nominate the successor.

Why is it illegal to pump your own gas in New Jersey?

Not sure .. but it's been the law there for as long as I can remember

What's the reasoning behind the two aforementioned states making it illegal to pump your own gas?

I would imagine the gas is therefore more expensive in those states.

Last question....do they wash your windows and check your oil?

When I married a NJ girl who moved out here to OH, she was quite upset that we actually pump our own gas here.

The FACTS and TRUTH are no longer considered necessary???

Have no relevancy with either the RATs or the MSM. Total lies 24/7 in order to achieve their #1 objective of impeachment of all Bushies simultaneously so they can install a candidate of their choosing. They absolutely cannot stand being out of control and it is making them seethe with vile anger.

With 5 refineries in eastern PA and 5 in NJ, gas is *very* cheap (it's expensive in PA only because of the $0.31 gas tax).

Right...and the left here in Washington state is proud of her for some unfathomable reason.

Isn't Ruth Ginsberg in very poor health? On the other hand, Stevens is in really good health even at 85.

Today's Question:

The Mr. October of pitchers What states other than New Jersey do not allow customers to pump their own gas at gas stations?

The Answer:

New Jersey and Oregon are the only U.S. states that currently ban self-service gas stations.

The purpose of these laws was to protect consumers and gas station owners from costly, and possibly deadly, accidents.

Better education and improved technology, however, have made pumping gas much safer and easier for consumers over the last 50 years. Since the 1970s, self-service gas stations have grown in popularity and have offered consumers significant savings at the pumps.

The New Jersey law was enacted in 1949 and the Oregon law in 1951. Each statute has stood up to several challenges in those two states.

Disabled motorists are most interested in seeing such laws survive. For those motorists with a disability, pumping gas is not an option and they depend on the employees of full-service stations.

Despite requirements outlined in the American Disabilities Act, many self-service stations do not provide a full-service option for disabled drivers, nor provide those services at self-service rates.

I have no idea, it just IS! I believe we're the only state where that's so.

Oregon too. Fully service only.

In CA, you'd be lucky to find a station that offers Full Service
