Gay and legally married

Gay and legally married By Terry Bush Posted January 9 2006

We finally tied the knot! My husband and I got married in Vancouver, B.C., Aug. 17, following with a cruise to Alaska. Having been together for eight and a half years, we could now express our feelings to each other publicly and become part of this institution that we have witnessed friends and family members join throughout our lives. I finally got to experience and feel what they did on that special day.

The difference here is that we are both men.

Some people are trying, in the name of the Lord, to do everything in their power to stop this from happening in the U.S., and I feel sorry for them. There is no basis for their claim. Picking and choosing Bible verses is what they did to try to stop integration and interracial marriage.

My first relationship of 18 great years ended with the other's death 10 years ago. I was not "privileged" to marry at that time.

I say "privileged" because those who are trying to keep me in second-class status take this action for granted. Heterosexuals can get married one day and divorced another.

LOL! Someone(not you or other moderators on FR) thinks that my posting articles about homosexual marriage is an "obsession".

JMO, some DUmmie is getting scared, and does a hit and run via the keywords.

Here is what G-d says about that (I don't believe taken out of context--for all of you that wish to address this rebellion against G-d Almighty): Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. Romans 1:24 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Quoting Romans on the subject is fine. But quoting Leviticus just opens up a big can of worms that will have you reversing faster than an Italian tank in WWII.

Yes, Levitican law prescribes putting to death all practicing homosexuals. It also prescribes the same punishment for adultry. BUT, Jesus countermanded much of the draconian punishment when he forgave both the woman at the well and the adulterous woman that the Pharisees brought before him.

I'm tired of the whole Turd Burglar agenda. First they force tolerance, then they force acceptance then they'll lobby for their own species. The upside is the same incremental strategy failed for the gun grabbers and will ultimately fail here too.

"After spending 18 years in a relationship, all I got upon his death was a letter from his employer stating I was not entitled to the pension he worked 30 hard years for, because I was not his spouse. It was nothing but a slap in my face."

You might have had a court case if one of you had a kid by the other.

Aside from the sick fact of putting something where it doesn't belong, whats the difference between you and your "buddy" and 2 hetero guys who are best friends that never married but share an apartment together? A better question should be does the fact that you pleasure each other sexually entitle you to that money? Because if that is all that is required to demand your friends pension I know a few women who are going to be mighty disappointed when their old man kicks the bucket.

Jesus countermanded much of the draconian punishment when he forgave both the woman at the well and the adulterous woman

So, that means it is OK for Christians to commit adultery, bestiality, incest, etc. since Jesus abolished all of that stuff?

BTW "Draconian" punishment comes from "Draco" a Greek pagan legislator who prescribed death for just about every crime. Mosaic law is not "Draconian."

The more dead people, the better!

I agreed with you up until this line. Can't agree with you on that one. That is a terrible sentence.

He forgave all sin, not just adultery and homosexuality. But sin is still sin--when he healed people, what did he say? Go and sin no more. If a person is in open rebellion to G-d (as this person obviously is), then it is very difficult for him to hear and recognize the voice of G-d.) I recommend for those of you (meaning all of us) that struggle with the connection of Jewish concepts and the relation of the Law with Christians that you read "Galatians" by Avi ben Mordechai. I don't want to get in a theological debate about Law vs. Grace, but it is good that we all search for the Truth.
