Day 3: Questioning Continues
This morning, Round 1 concludes with Senators on the Judiciary Cmte. who did not question nominee Alito yesterday. During Round 2, questioning is limited to 20 minutes for each of the eight- een senators. Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) leads off, followed by the others, alternating by party in order of seniority.

Good grief, is English their second language? Is it their language at all? Kennedy just made a complete fool of himself. (I know, what else is new.)
He put the bag on fat ted's head and went to town. I was amazed. Arlen grew some.

Who is the chick handing Kennedy papers? She looks like the same woman who was in charge of Kerry's campaign.
Arlen just slammed the door on The Swimmer and left him impotent.
There went the morale of all the libs on the committee.....their great hero and icon, the venerable Teddy-boy, was reduced to a mound of evaporating blubber.
IMO, this incident is a turning point, and Specter is responsible for it. I have to hand it to the guy. This exchange is the one that will be shown tonight.....and all of Teddy's bloviating points against the judge will be lost in space.
Memo to the DC Sandwich King......don't mess with that long-time, experienced, wily old prosecutor/defense attorney, Arlen Specter.
You won't win. Plus, he holds the gavel, heheh.

The dark haired woman sitting next to Mrs. Alito is Sams sister, I believe.
The woman on the right is not Alito's daughter.
Alito's daughter is 16, has long blonde hair and is not there today.
That was a definite sound bite.
Brit Hume commented on that--I think yesterday--pointing out how well the Pubbies have "done their homework" to make sure Alito does not get "Borked." And it's very encouraging!
It should be interesting to see how the MSM tries to spin this exchange.
Ken Starr saying that it's astounding that a senior member of the Committee (Kennedy) would attack his own Chairman and that it's undignified.
Also says that the Vanguard issue has been thoroughly vetted.

Its nothing more than a lame attempt to derail alito. Funny that the end sentence says Graham already had his mind made up. Like Schumer, et al dont.

I honestly don't think it amounts to much.
Feingold tried to use that tack yesterday-although, he was more concerned with the communication between Alito and the White House-and it was a miserable failure.
Keep in mind, the people leveling these charges are far-left, Dem. partisan hacks.
The so-called think tank mentioned in the course of that article is actually an offshoot of the Democratic Party created by rich donors.
