Schrock isn't entirely out of Congress. He is a staff worker for his buddy, Rep. Tom Davis. Could Davis be grooming him as his replacement for the Va-11 when he challenges Mark Warner for the Senate seat in 2008?

I think that if Davis runs for Warner's seat (which I think he will) he will want his wife to replace him in the House. When it was rumored a few months ago that Davis was thinking of foregoing reelection in 2006, his wife was atop the list of potential candidates. And Schrock's background was in military issues and in Hampton Roads, making him a particularly unsuitable to attract votes in the DC suburbs (especially since conservative voters there would never vote for someone who was accused of taking part in gay one-night stands---supposedly they had him on tape soliciting young men---and didn't even refute the charges). If Davis retires, my top choice is former Washington Redskins star Darrell Green. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/keyword?k=darrellgreen
