Spain rebuffs U.S. on sale to Venezuela (Spain decides to sell weapons to Chavez)

Spain rebuffed Washington's appeal to refuse military sales to Venezuela, saying Friday it will sell the South American nation military boats and jets.

The United States has refused to grant a re-export license for the U.S. components of the Spanish aircraft and patrol boats that make up a proposed $2 billion deal, the Financial Times reported. In addition, the United States has asked Spain not to supply Caracas with arms.

But late Friday Spanish state radio quoted Defense Ministry sources in Madrid as saying the big military deal would go ahead and substitute technology would come from European sources.

Does Spain have planes? Mainly on the plains?

We should start sending bomb making supplies to the Basque separatists.

Yeah I know. Their patrol boats would be magnets for AGM-114M Blast-Frag Hellfires (an anti-ship version of the Hellfire missile) while the USAF would be more than eager to shoot down those jets. And nope we dont forget whose screws us over.

Yeah good question. On one hand Spain has been giving France a run for its money in the appeasement department. On the other hand France did not do much during the riots.

Not sure what aircraft Stain wants to sell Chavez, but if they do not have American components, not sure what value they have.

I think Spain has some F-16s but not entirly sure. F-16s would be target practice versus F-22 though.

Does/did Stain have a license to produce F-16's? I doubt they could resell them.

And why would a Communist government not sell to another Communist government. SPAIN will soon be back under the control of a left wing dictator if they are not already.
