You all might be interested in knowing that Steve Malzberg will be back on the local New York airwaves this Thursday on WOR. As his ex-webmaster and friend I am glad for him. Here is the relevant thread at the NEW YORK RADIO BOARDS and here is a link to Steve's website. Hope you all spread the word and ping the appropriate lists :-).
Good for Mr. Malzberg. I heard him doing guest-hosting on KRLA 870 in Los Angeles.
He covers all the bases and does it with good cheer.
When I used to be able to pick up WABC when I was in W. Virginia, I enjoyed his show. Did not know he was taken off the air. I wish him luck!
Wrote to him this AM asking if there's a chance that it could become permanent...no answer yet.
He's on WMAL now 8-10pm.
He actually left to go to another station, but left there (co-hosting with a lib) after several months.
Glad he's getting a chance to be heard again.
Do you know what time he'll be on the air?
#$@^%%@!!!
We've been blessed here in the Wash DC area lately, since Steve has been subbing locally on WMAL. I had hoped he would be with us permanently. But obviously no such luck.
(Just hope he's on WOR after sunset, so we can pick him up!)
Hello everyone. I want to let you know that I will be hosting from 4-6 pm this Thursday January 19th on WOR Radio. Of course this time slot, until this week, belonged to my broadcasting idol Bob Grant. My first professional radio job was producing Bob Grant's show in 1980 at WMCA, "AM-57." I spoke with Bob on Saturday and he's a total class act. I will miss him greatly.
Thursday will mark the first time that I've been on New York radio since late June. I hope you get a chance to listen. Please spread the word. Stay safe.
Steve
Maybe you can catch STeve on WOR thru the internet.
Good luck to Mr. Malzberg.
Phil Boyce is a jacka**.
Great news!!!
Steve's website says only that he will be hosting Bob Grant's timeslot on THURSDAY. So far, Grant's show has been guest-hosted by the thoroughly boring Joey Reynolds, who is obviously a grown man, but has this very unseemly habit of giggling all the time, like a nervous teenager, and today, I think a better choice, a guy whose name I can't remember but whom I have heard before subbing for Limbaugh. I don't know who's doing it Wednesday. But this station better find someone important to PERMANENTLY host that time slot or their ratings will be NONEXISTENT.
Radio is a funny business if Steve gets enough listeners who know him to call in and busy up the boards then he might get a spot. It's also interesting that WMAL in DC where he has been a regular guest host is an ABC affiliate.
He might be back at WABC, one never knows, after all they fired Curtis Sliwa once. Steve wasn't fired, he quit. Plus you have to take into account that Grant is not out of the picture yet and the reason he left WOR probably had to do with money.
Is there anyway to stream this?
