Amen again. However Preston, I figure that Layton has pretty much backed himself into an "ethical" corner. He was the one who was so angry along with the Conservatives when Martin REFUSED to step down after the no confidence motion passed. And then he promptly goes ahead and signs the nomination papers of the homosexual THIEF Svend Robinson. The man, completely, used up any political integrity he could lay claim to at that point. I don't under estimate the desperation of Martin as you say but I just have a feeling that Martin has "gone too far". Layton HAS to know that Martin would be glad to USE him right now, but the minute he didn't need him anymore, he would chew him up and spit him out!! NOBODY trusts Martin anymore. But then, your the expert - do you think I have a valid perception here? CO
No...I think you've summed up the depth of Martin's desperation quite nicely.
While I have absolutely no love for Jack Layton, I've personally found it hysterical to see that for Martin, it's come down to begging third, fourth and fifth parties for their vote. I think it's also quite funny to see that the roles of the NDP and Liberals are effectively reversed from the last election. Layton can now truthfully say that a vote for a Liberal is a wasted vote, as your party will be on hiatus for the next four years retooling.
