It appears that this is not so much a win for Harper as a Vote against Martin

Freeper Capt. Tom tells me they need 155 for a majority party, it currently sits at 123

I said this on another thread- I don't understand Canada's political system. What is the difference between 124 and 155? What does not being the majority mean there?
Does this win carry as much weight as it would in the US? Meaning a win for conservatives vs Libs?

Being a winning minority party is like A conservative winning the presidency with a majority Dem house and senate

Even if the Conservatives win big time, they probably will still be able to form a majority. The independent Quebec voting block will make sure of it.
