FrontPage magazine.com | 9/30/05 | Frank J Gaffney Jr.
Fox News Network has a new, influential, shareholder--the fourth largest behind the Murdoch family, Liberty Media and Fidelity Mangement and Research Co.--Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal. This has been covered in the blogosphere, but has received relatively little media attention. Rupert Murdoch has given the prince the "unfiltered ability to broadcast Saudi-produced materials directly into America on Murdoch's satellite." Anyone taking bets on whether or not Fox news coverage on the Middle East is going to change? FrontPage magazine.com :: Fox's Saudi Prince by Frank J Gaffney Jr.

Thanks for posting this- its the first time I see it.

Just goes to show that, while we can put our faith in institutions (the US military comes to mind), corporations don't often deserve our 'loyalty'.

There is a massive audience out there for fair and balanced reporting. If Fox starts slipping up (its a bit premature to say this is happening), someone else will fill their shoes.

Looks like money doesn't talk after all. Investors can be chumps sometimes.

What is IBTZ?

That is a call for Zot. In Before The Zot. Typically reserved for a very "new" poster that posts a vanity in Breaking or Frontpage. Some trolls are persistent, and last for years. Poor spelling and grammar generally are the hallmarks of "ZOTtees". It is good form to apologise when incorrectly calling for zot.

Also, it seems even those of us that lurk here and learn here on a daily basis, do miss some posts, glad that I posted it even though it had been posted previously. Seems some did not know about it. Also, I just get quizzy when the muslims are buying up news organizations. Maybe I am the paranoid one.

IBTZ means In Before The Zot If you don't know what a zot is, check out the admin moderator page:

http://www.freerepublic.com/~adminmoderator/

Sorry to be skeptical, but you showed all the classic symptom of being a troll (although some come later than others):

First thread posted is something critical of either the administration or other 'conservative' icons
Bringing up old news again and again
No supporting discussion or logical discourse (just stirring the pot)
Grammatical and spelling errors
Not capitalizing President Bush

I'll apologize if I'm wrong, time will tell.

Did I post poor spelling and/or grammar, anyway, glad that I have been found not guilty of being a zot! I will try to post more often.

Thanks for the informative link. I've always surfed FR via the RSS feed, so my knowledge of the broader community is limited.

Thanks for the tentitive apology, time will tell that I am a god fearing, country loving, military supporting, right winger, and proud of it. This was hard for me to post this in the first place as I always feel that I am not as qualified as some. But will try to add to discussions in the future.. usually my spelling and grammar are correct but time will tell.

Thank you for the definition. I saw a reference to it on the discussion thread to Dasher's Acronyms, but no direct listing.

I don't think we should be alarmed about the influence that the Prince may have at Fox. I believe he is first and foremost a businessman. Because he is a Wahabist does not mean that he supports terrorism. Many in this sect do not agree with 911 and condemn it.I happen to think that Guiliani whom I like a great deal was wrong not to have accepted his gift of $10 million. Fact is our support for Israel may have been too one sided. If it had not been one sided , I am still not sure if that would have changed the current situation one way or another. It would probably have been best if the Jewish state as formed in 1948 was one that united both Arab and Jew instead of dividing them. In essence a secular state of Palestine consisting of jews and arabs living along side of each other instead of separately could have changed world history. Unfortunately under the current circumstances that will never happen but we must proceed with current policy since it is the only way to bring peace to the region.

Pay no attention to those Jews and quiet Palis living as neighbors in Israel behind the Wall....
