I predict the maverick will not be the GOP nominee for 2008.

Not only would they have McCain as the candidate but they will tell you that he is the only one who can beat Hillary and you will beat you up with the mantra that a vote for anyone other than McCain is a vote for Hillary. Personally, I will never vote for the man.

It was in effect in 2004.

I believe McCain/Feingold comes into effect in steps, and 2008 is the first presidential election that it is in full effect.

What exactly is their major malfunction? Are they trying to give the LP the biggest boost in its entire history, and hand the country over to King Hillary?

If this is for real, I want Limbaugh, Hannity, and all the rest of the GOP mouthpieces to start calling for mass-mailing of frozen strawberries and large ball bearings to the RNC headquarters.

Given that you likely never sent a penny to the GOP or volunteered to help get candidates who are less liberal than the alternative elected, loss of support costs what?

For him, and each person like him, the "loss of support" costs precisely one vote.

In the aggregate, the tally can be quite considerable.

I can't see republican primaries voting that way. I'm not quite sure whom I would vote for, but I'm leaning towards Tom Tancredo. He's serious about illegal immigration, and to be honest that troubles me more than Iraq. We'll be out of Iraq in due time, but we don't have due time for illegal immigration. It needs to stop. I believe if that issues is brought to the forefront we'll see Americans vote for the person whom supports real enforcement. That's Tom.

What's your thoughts on Tom? Anyone better than him?

In "full effect"? Hmm...what pieces weren't in effect in 2004? The soft money and the 30/60 day rules were (unless the outside groups raised their money from hard money sources).

After the McCain Feingold obscene law against political free speach, I'll be damned if I vote for McCain, even if he wins the nomination. He obviously doesn't think much of the Constitution and the free speach clause.
