If they vote for cloture instead of going nuclear, they'll be opening the door for minority rule of judicial appointees forever. That cannot be allowed to stand. A regular fillibuster serves as a negotiating tool and therefore serves a purpose. Judicial fillibusters exist only to obstruct. Nuclear is the only option.
I'd like to see the nuke invoked as well but to do that we first have to be sure that we have the 51 votes for it and second, there has to be a filibuster. There isn't going to be a filibuster so the whole issue is moot. Yes, the dems keep the filibuster option for a future nominee, but that's where we are.
