Stone slams US for ignoring AIDS
London (IANS) ^ | 1/30/06 | Staff

Actress Sharon Stone has slammed the US saying that it is not doing enough to help those suffering from AIDS. Stone is disgusted by the lack of support for even American victims of the disease and condemns the US for dismissing the disease as an African problem only, contactmusic.com reported. She says: “There is this feeling that AIDS has gone away and it hasn’t. In downtown Los Angeles there are two whole streets of homeless people with AIDS who have no access to drugs. A child dies of AIDS every minute, and they’re not all in Africa.”

The WHO estimated 570,000 AIDS related deaths in children in 2005. Giving 570,000 / 365 = 1562 / 24 = 65 deaths per hour.

Two questions, actually. What is the definition of "children", as you asked, and what does "AIDS-related" mean, exactly? The "political football" potential for these two items is huge.

I forgot about 'Bitter Waitress', fun site! Here's my favorite on our Mizz Stone:

I work at the Foriegn Cinema in San Francisco. It's become "a hot spot" here in sf. We've had many celeberties frequent our restaurant. The one that i remember was Sharon Stone. I was working as a runner and my good friend was serving her and her husband. She ran my friend ragged and after presening the bill of $139 she only left $9. On the way out she stiffed the valet. She lives in the area and have other friends in other restaurants that say she is a horrible tipper and a full on b!%^&

Another sage actress/college drop-out lecturing on the stupidity of the American public . . . like Mikey Moore.
Remember Jessica Lange testifying to Congress about the plight of the family farmer? She was an expert `cause she starred in a movie about a farm family (`The River') or mebbe it was the plight of endangered beavers . . . dam.
In any event, you know the conference table privacy-shields were removed so the congress-critters could be edified on the farm crisis, or something.

I agree completely, for those who contact the disease that way I would do anything to help them and make their life as comfortable as possible. If anyone donated blood after finding out they have the disease then they should be hanged in the town square without the quick drop in the beginning.

Leftists see the world thru a filter.
They don't see things that run counter to their world view.

Has anyone else seen that comedian woman, Kathy Something, that does this bit about Stone speaking at some awards show? The stupid bimbo (Stone) gets in front of the podium and begins READING and ACTing out the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. And she was dead serious! Sort of half weeping, according to Kathy, that "Imagine...there's no heaven....I wonder...if you can."

Well the comedian chick-- (as the MC of the event) she's pinching herself to keep from laughing because its so stupid and because all the lefties in the audience are just eating it up. Finally, none other than Rosey O'Donnell comes up to her and says "what the f*#k is she doing?" O'donnell talks Kathy into going back on stage and reciting "The ITSY BITSY Spider." If someone could find a copy of that transcript to post you'll laugh your heads off. It was on BRavo or some other weirdo station.

I seem to remember one homeless dude who said a homeless person died every second, or something like that. I am pretty sure that was BS too

At least 80% of all statistics are made up on the spot. See, I just made that up!
