Okay- so, a balanced diet keeps one healthy. This is news? And how much did British taxpayers spend on this?
Humans are omnivores, not carnivores or herbivores. A vegetarian diet supplimented by red meat is close to what our ancestors ate, and probably best for us.

Lean meat is the elixir of mankind, along with poultry, fish and eggs. If I can't get venison, I'm happy with chicken breast and tuna. The key is to eat a variety of foods, in particular steamed vegetables and fruits. I am not a vegetarian, but I eat as if I were poor: a salad, some nuts, and a side of low fat cottage cheese might do for supper. I am, so far as the last complete physical indicated, in perfect health. Be careful! Too much animal protein can cause constipation. Use common sense and drink plenty of clean water.
