Not true. If the 'Hawks were the darlings of Seattle libs, then Seattle would be awash in Green and Blue, and that just isn't the case.

The Seattle Seahawks are really a regional team (Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska).

Note, I didn't infer that Steeler fans don't have jobs, but it takes a lot less effort to get from PA to MI than from WA. Most of the locals in Detroit are going to be pro-Steeler (who can blame them with the hapless Lions?) and the 'Hawk fans won't show until Saturday/Sunday.

That said, it is going to be a Steeler crowd on Sunday, by about a three-to-one margin I would guess. Pittsburgh has a much deeper football tradition, and geography ensures it.

The game will be close, and might turn on injuries or the bounce of that devilishly shaped ball they play with. If the 'Hawks win, of course I'm happy, but if the Steelers win, they will have shown themselves to be the best and there is little shame in being beaten by the best.

Looking forward to a good game. We are all Americans first, and while it is fun to put that aside for a game, I'm mainly hoping that nothing happens to remind us that it is only a game. Here's to no serious injuries, no terror attacks and a great time on Sunday.

Amen to that.

As soon as the game ends its back to real life.

Just a diversion from the burdens of reality, nothing more.
