The so-called push-off by DJ - look at it again; yes, he stuck out his hand, but it made no impact on the defender, who was NOT pushed back or off the play, and who - himself - a nanosecond beford - had HIS hand on DJ. it should have been a non-call; it was ticky-tack.

And some really poorly timed penalties on Seattle's OLine killed em too.

Who called those penaltys? AHHH thats right! Holding that wasnt! Even Madden said it wasnt holding! Why didnt the Steelers have any holding calls against them? hmmmmmm

I think Ben was short on the TD because his forearm was barely touching the goaline and the ball was behind his forearm, His forearm would have to be thin as paper for the ball to have been over the line. That indisputable evidence rule is just a way the NFL allows the refs to not overrule bad cause that will lead to an outcome undesirable to the NFL.

It did too make an impact. The defender was leaning forward and had his momentum going forward, he could have made a play except he was pushed backwards, reversing his momentum. If you push someone away from the path of the ball you'll be called for interference always, and that's the right call always.

It's not unusual for the losing team to outgain the winning team, especially if they spend most of the game playing from behind. The winning team is willing to concede yardage to avoid giving up the quick score.

Don't know the actual rule of down by contact, or the fumble earlier...lots of bad calls against the Steelers as well.

I believe the deal with that is, if the runner is touched by an opponent and he hits the ground, the ground can not cause a fumble because he's down by contact. If he falls down on his own, and the ball squirts out the ground can cause a fumble. That's how I understand it, anyway.

Congrats to you and your boss! I'm proud of the Seahawks, they put up a good fight! Their stats were way better than the Steelers! They are a great team and deserved to be in the Superbowl. It was a good game between two great teams!
Maybe you'll get the day off tomorrow! That would make a loss worthwhile! :)

I'm no football man but that game wasn't very fair it seemed. In my book the score was 17-14 in the Seahawks favor. And I'm as partisan as you can be.

As a long time Redskins fan, I doubt that America could put up with all the BS from Dallas fans! I, for one, think they are pitiful!

Better look again zip, the defender was moving away from the ball, beaten badly by the outside cut.

C'mon man! Refs are always going to make mistakes. That's what makes pro sports so intriguing!! Do you want the game to be managed by perfectionists such as robotics or constant video replay? It'll spoil it!!

Why were all the mistakes AGAINST the same team? AT Key times? EVEN under replay! I remember a few weeks ago steeler fan complaining about one play (polamalu interception) that was one play, this was like a bunch of plays! not just 1

That is exactly the rule. THe old proviso "the ground can't cause a fumble" is wrong, the ground can cause a fumble so long as the runner isn't down by contact.
