Agreed. We can always look at this as a Swann matter. That works for me.

Politics made it impossible for me to pull for a Seattle team - but for the ridiculous calls. Oh well, alls well that ends well.

"You don't have any marquee players," he said. "Nobody really knows Seattle. The Steelers have some history, but the `Bus' (Bettis) is no `Fridge' (William Perry) when it comes to popularity."

Eisner's Blum predicts this matchup could be the exception. It needs a Tom Brady, Brett Favre, Jerry Rice to bring in viewers, Blum said.

****CHICAGO TRIBUNE

LOWEST RATINGS EVER FOR A SUBERBOWL. OTHER THAN SEATTLE AND pittsburgh, NO ONE GAVE A SH*T. NO SUPERSTARS ONLY THUGS AND A 3RD RATE NFC TEAM.

Wow, I've seen some pretty sore losers before, but I can't say I've ever seen such sore winners as I'm seeing on here tonight from some of the Pittsburgh fans. That's too bad. Seems like you'd find a better way to celebrate your big win.

The interference and the hold were both flagrant, both altered the play and both HAD to be called by ANY remotely useful ref in the world.

Whatever you say, O Magnificent One. Nobody else knows a thing about the game except for you.

I thought code black in medicine had to do with excess iron in stools or something.

You watch. Next year's pre season darling will be the Cincinnati Bengals.

Awe isn't that cute how you have to join into the conversation and have nothing to contribute but an insult. Run along now the adults are talking.

Animal Planet has the Puppy Bowl 2 on right now and my little 4 pound dog is loving it and barking up a storm at the screen.

Only two other times has he barked this hard.
#1 Star Jones on TV.
#2 Jennifer Lopez performing in some HBO special. He got exited watching her sweat.

Pro Wrestling is actually more real than what you saw tonight.

I was waiting for one of the  Pittsburgh coaches run out and hit Hasselbeck with a steel chair while the Refs aren't looking.

The flag that was thrown on that bogus Offense Pass Interference  call in the first half just sold on Ebay for  $15,000..

Steelers just been handed a stolen ticket to Disneyworld!!

QB be called for chop blocking on a guy WITH THE BALL! What was that about?

Game ball was presented to the refs after the game. This is on par with the 1919 Black Sox scandal.

I personally know where they hide the slush fund to pay off the refs. I'm donning my tinfoil hat now and going to talk to myself how Gore got robbed!!

And they probably should be, the Bengals performed very well this year and most of their key players are pretty young. The AFC is just getting harder.

Later, gators, I'm off to buy a sweatshirt! I'd order a Seahawks Super Bowl Champs shirt for ya, but gosh darnit, they don't have any. ;o)

Oh yeah, what do ya call this? ; )

Hmmm. I mean by we, the large number of people who watched the game not as Steelers or Seahawks fans and think that the game was flubbed beyond recognition by the refs. There are quite a few here on Free Republic....quite a few on MSNBC's comment site.....quite a few on SI.....oh, quite a few every place I have looked.

And the Gerbil too.

I have to agree, the game was handed to the Steelers. I think that the proof that the winner was predetermined was is in the profiles of the Steeler team members that they kept showing all during the game. What was that all about? No one has had an answer to that, yet.

Their defense still needs a lot of work before they'll be ready to make a run at the Lombardi trophy. Indy's time has come and gone. It'll be between the Pats and Steelers again next year.

I'm a Seahawks fan...that's for what it's worth. But it wasn't the calls. The Seahawks dominated the game, except for the big plays. Those dern big plays.

It was Holmgren, a great coach, that cost them a game they dominated.

His strategy was abysmal...he was outcoached by Cowher, who wasn't even trying to outcoach him!

His reliance on Stevens on over-the-middle routes, instead of using Jurevicius was one obvious problem...but there were many other strategic errors that he made in preparing his team for this type of game. Holmgren is a great, great coach. But he was terrible, strategically, today. And it cost his team.
