LIVE THREAD: SJC hearing on the NSA surveilance program - C-span 1; 9:30 am EST

Posted on 02/06/2006 6:08:53 AM PST by ken5050

Good Monday morning, once again, fellow political jinkies. The NFL season may be over, but the political season inside the Beltway is 24/7/365. So join us, if you can, as those wacky Dems on the Senate Judiciary committee reprise their pitiful efforts to once again smear President Bush and score political points..

I read a book a couple of weeks ago, The Fifth Horseman by Larry Collins; it explained in GREAT DETAIL about NSA and even what it looks like inside the buildings and what they do and how they do it.

It's a great book -- everybody should read it; it's about Triopli putting a nuke in NYC.

And it was written in 1980!!!!!

Yes, we have Leaky sticking up for the Slimes and Feinstein saving Jamie's bacon.

The words of our astute Vice President Dick Cheney come to mind when reflecting on Senator Leaky Leahy.

They are going to get us all killed... How are they held to account for thousands of lives being put in harms way?

"It is George Bush's fault"

Besides, it doesn't bother them. After it happens they can vote all the dead people as Democrats!

Forgive my ignorance. I just got back...what is the Senate voting on?

Nothing at the moment, but the Senate should bring up a vote whether or not to defund the NSA, as a "sense of the Senate" vote. Get everyone on record. Just like this Murtha bill nonsense voted down in the House last November (which BTW, Murtha voted against his own bill).

and now they want to cut the funding for it?

They better not...and besides I don't see them doing anything but whine over this matter.

The other night I watched a show on The History Channel about 9-11; the talking heads were the people on the 9-11 Commission.

I swear to you, Jamie Gorelick actually sat in front of a camera and said -- with a straight face -- that the CIA and FBI didn't share information prior to 9/11 -- and that that had to be fixed!

Feinstein covering for Gorelick suggesting there was no law at that time?

FISA had no physical search provision, therefore there was no legal mechanism to get a warrant for physical entry. At the time, FISA did have a provision for an electronic surveillance warrant, and one of those -WAS- obtained.

Since then, FISA has been extended, and now has facilities for making physical entry under a warrant, and for making physical entry without a warrant.

FISA Statutes

This is about creating legislation to hamper our efforts in fighting AQ here and elsewhere.

It's about making America weaker.

Oh, we want a Sense of the Senate resolution about the NSA surveillance, just to put the Dems on record.

I really don't care what DiFi "believes". This isn't about her "beliefs".

No, I just recall certain images and where they are. Some are saved, not many.
