Here's an update on Phelps protest at Ft. Campbell from my friend, an Army Wife, who attended the counter protest...

"There was only about 10 of them and some were chidren. They stayed for 30 minutes and protested. They had signs that said "God bless IEDs" and "Thank God for dead soldiers" How awful! Plenty of Army wives were out there supporting their husbands and even though I said I wasn't going to go, I was one of them. We brought our flags and held them the right way and they didn't touch the ground. Everyone that drove by was honking and waving. It was great to see so much support for our troops. But I guess that's to be expected in a military town. They had plenty of cops out there who kept all the army wives away from the idiots. It was rather fun standing out there in the rain/snow mix supporting my husband and all our troops. I'm so glad I went. God bless our troops and thank God for American soldiers."

My husband got up and OMG its early to go to a funeral (of a solider he has never met) on his day off to protect the family's feelings against these awful protesters.I heard his Harley start up @ 7am. My husband,bless his heart, is a Retired Marine (he did over 20 years,retired in 2001 as A GUNNY) we are so proud of him & he served his country well. I wanted to go with him this morning but I'm almost 8 months pregnant so I opted to stay @ home. No matter whose funeral it is, people should respect the family. If the protesters feel this way, then they can get out of our country & go live elsewhere. They are free and protected because of the military not their beliefs. it makes me sick to hear what they have said & to drag our flag on the ground? My son wanted to go this morning with my husband & I said no because its no place for kids and the protesters are using their own kids to get lawsuits etc...Make you sick doesn't it ? God Bless these Riders! Harleys or not.
