Bush to say terrorist attack thwarted
Agence France-Presse ^ | February 9, 2006

Posted on 02/09/2006 7:22:28 AM PST by RWR8189

US President George W. Bush was to say in a speech that international cooperation helped thwart a terrorist attack on the US west coast, according to White House spokesman Scott McClellan.

McClellan did not provide any details about the plot, or the way it was prevented, but told reporters the purpose of Bush's remarks was to "show the kind of international cooperation that is required" to defeat terrorism.

He also said the goal was not to justify Bush's controversial order, after the September 11, 2001 attacks, to allow spying on Americans without getting a warrant, in a break with past practice.

Did we uncover plans for these via illegal wiretapping or via illegal waterboarding?

You sound like the DEM talking head on Fox right now...isn't it good enough that a plot was foiled.... why do you need to look for hidden motives?

John Riegel vs. Frank Fahrenkopf, just on FNC, debating this little bit of "news". We could not have scripted Riegel's response better.

He never answered the newsbabe's question, but spouted what will become the Dimwits' talking points: more criticism of "Bush" -- never President Bush -- and nothing, absolutely nothing, but second-guessing and negativism.

Bring it on, you bunch of tin-eared turds!

There is no agent Bauer. He's in fact a make-believe character played by a anti-American hippy's Hollywood kid and is named after a type of Marijuana.

FWIW, "Bauer" is German for farmer or commoner.

It will be like WWII and WWIII (the Cold War, WWII was named AFTER the fact as well). We won't learn of some battles and plots until after the war is over and I suspect there are some things we will never hear.

You have all seen this building, if you've seen the movie "Independance Day". It was the first thing the aliens destroyed; the one with the alien welcomers dancing on top.

WHY are they just now telling us this.

See posts #65 and #100...it was reported in 2004 and again in 2005.

"I can hear Matthews now: "Isn't this all a big attempt to defend domestic spying?"

Isn't Matthews show all about enabling terrorists, deny any left wing media bias while allowing Democrats to bloviate?

Next you'll be telling me that aliens didn't actually blow up the Library Tower.

It was originally the Library Tower. They had to negotiate certain rights with the Los Angeles Public Library below it.

How does this make sense? Shoe bombs to storm the cockpit? How does that work? If they detonate, no one gets to hit the Library Tower. If they use them as a ruse to GET into the cockpit, it would NEVER have worked in Oct '01. The Flight 93 heroes were BIG in everyone's mind, and no passengers would let that happen.

Or did they have some kind of controlled bomb that they knew would ruin the cockpit door but not touch the fuselage?

I just heard the guy filling in for Laura Ingraham (while she is in Iraq) say it was via waterboarding. I can't remember the name of the guy who they had/have in custody that started spilling the beans.

A shaped charge perhaps?
