Hell will always be there. Once there he will spend his time regretting not accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior.
Perhaps you are correct on the point though because God did say the vengeance was his. It is just my worldly nature to want to make him pay dearly before he departs time for eternity. I would just hate to let him off that easy so soon.
