it's sugar not cocaine, so it's fake, not real. that's the problem with you zero tolerance zealots, you suspend a girl with a midol pill used for menstruation, don't allow drug-snifing dogs in schools, and don't allow mandatory drug testing but when a boy is caught with sugar, you suspend him. And when it's time for the pregnant student to get an abortion, you drive her to the mill and demand a permission slip from the parent when she goes on a class trip.

If the relevant law in that case was against representing oneself as having a real gun, you might have a point. Can you show that there are such laws, or are you just flinging red herrings?

from the article, it's powdered sugar. zero tolerance policies are full of crap and don't help the students. It's all a publicity stunt. If you think it's ok then so be it. The education profession isn't what it used to be.

and i'm telling you for the third time that after the substance was tested the administration shoudn't have acted so hysterically with it's idiotic zero tolerance policies. the student's word isn't the issue, the issue is the suspension for having sugar and "pretending" it was something else and as I said "for the 3rd time" i'm glad i lived in a generation where there weren't so many hysterical parents and teachers around where we had fun and play was play where we could own our play guns and shoot each other playing cops and robbers, army and cowboys and indians. Yes, back then we called them indians and weren't charged with a hate crime felony.

Once they found out it was sugar that should have been the end of it.

The school has a policy against look-alike drugs. Students are not allowed to carry around plastic baggies containing a white powder and say it's cocaine and invite other students to go into the bathroom to try some.

That's a no-no. It's in the student handbook. It's no secret. It's a school rule to which every student is expected to adhere.

Now, if a student breaks that rule they get suspended for two weeks. Even if the substance turns out to be other than cocaine.

How was the school to know it was actually sugar, by the way? This makes four requests. What's your problem in answering a simple question? Is it too tough? Did I use some big words?
