I just feel like I'm not quite mature enough yet, kind of a 31 year old goofball in a lot of ways. My parents are perfect teachers, or as close as one could expect to get. 30+ years in and still idealistic. The shoes are just so damned big, I don't know if I could fill them without some growing up. But yeah, I can see that happening sometime soon. I kind of wish I'd have majored in political science instead of biology, though. I would love to teach government. Biology will be cool, though. I've been working in research for years, so I will have relevent experience to back up my knowledge of the fundamentals.
I haven't really decided between elementary, middle school, or high school yet, though.

I'm sure you'll make a GREAT teacher. To me, it is a noble profession and I am very appreciative of the many good ones I had and that I see today in my area at least. I RESENT strongly those who abuse it and do things that make the rest of us look bad.
I am a strong supporters of scientists and others getting involved. I often try to bring in people from the corporate world to be guest speakers in my own classroom. The students love it and it is a welcome break from their boring teacher who puts them to sleep.
GOOD LUCK.
