"Rove and Bush ordered up the Blue State blizzard of '06."
A little premature, wasn't it? You'd think something like this could be timed for November 2, 2006 in all of those blue states. Karl needs to get his Weather Machine calibrated...and soon! :)
(It could happen. We've had plenty of October 31st's with snow on the ground!)
My vote for depressing post of the thread. California is the same way.
LMAO!
I have long considered snow shovels (and garden spades for that matter) to be extremely inefficient. They make you bend your knees, thus lowering your body, in order to lift the scoop. And that means that you have to lift your body weight with each scoop of snow, expending more energy wastefully than you are actually applying to moving the snow.I have a two-year-old shovel with the bent handle so you don't have to stoop as much to pick up the scoop - but it is both heavy and annoyingly flexible when trying to scrape snow into the scoop. But I bought a new shovel yesterday and it seems to actually work well.
It has a conventional handle and a "helper" handle that is attached to regular handle near the scoop. The scoop end of the helper handle is on a two-direcitonal pivot so that it enables the helper handle to lift the scoop, and allows the scoop to be pivoted to dump the snow. The helper handle is long enough so you don't waste energy and strain bending over or bending your knees.
The scoop is smaller than is typical of snow shovels, but that works because you expend far less energy with each scoop, so you can very easily execute three times as many scoops without being as tired as the big shovel would make you. I recommend it, tho obviously I can't vouch for its durability yet. But the design doesn't appear to me to have obvious weak links.
I'm sure the national weather service has been planning this for weeks!
Or, you could invest in a snow blower. :)
Might do that. But I got the shovel for $10. Snowblower might come a little dearer . . .
Tis true, tis true.
No, you don't get it; this way they can't lose. They can have him impeached either way.
It's not very white around here by the end of winter.
Just a few miles north of me the snow is over 90 inches deep.
Well, Cheney can't help. He's out shooting his buddy. It's bad out there.
;-)
I feel I should let you know...they actually did this on the news tonight. I can't remember which station I had it on CBS or NBC, newsbreak from the MSM, interviewed a Liberal black guy (didn't say he was Liberal but come on. :-) ) that brought up Katrina and why was the Federal Government was so incapable of dealing with events like this...
Had to wonder how far the rats had to dig to find this put up job to blame the President for a Blizzard! he said his scripted lines perfectly, but the smirk ruined their effect...
Blogger ICAB9USA4Uandmebutnot4blacks ........... was miffed too.
It's George W. Bush's fault.
More breaking news...... Al Sharpton wants an investigation as to why snow is ALWAYS white.
Cheney has stock in Tru-Value Hardware. Do you have any idea how many SNOW SHOVELS they sold today to the unsuspecting consumer?
I demand to know why FEMA has been so late in reacting to this storm. THEY KNEW IT WAS COMING! And yet they failed to have crews in place to fix the electricity as soon as it went off. It just shows that Bush and the Republicans just don't care about the people in the N.E. The Senate needs to investigate this with administration people under oath.
I'll bet that the great junior senator from N.Y. has opened the doors of her home to all of the heatless poor of her neighborhood and is busy baking cookies for them while her husband applies body heat to the nearly frozen teen-aged girls.
