the most important thing for a Christian is to conform to the image of Jesus Christ and become saved.

Is this what a Catholic believes, or is this the word "Christian" as defined by the Evangelical christians. This is a question, not a challenge to any christians, so please don't go into attack mode. I was raised southern Babtist but could never accept nor fully understand the concept of being "saved." I have many devout Catholic friends who do not hold to the "saved" concept either.

This is closer to the Catholic position, it is BOTH. We do conform to Christ to the best of our ability.

The Evangelical Christian is more likely to state as did Always Right in post #12. Actually we just have to accept Jesus as our Savior. If we had to conform to the image of Christ, no one could ever get saved.
