Free Republic is a very different place than it was in the 1990s when freepers distrusted the state and upheld individual liberty.

Nothing like religious fervor and a cult of personality to turn the rabble into a mob.

The world is a very different place then the 1990's when 99% of the world was unaware of what Islam really meant.

As a Jew, I am certainly not in favor of banning religion, but something has to be done about Islam before they kill us all.

The only government solution I see is denying visas from muslim countries. That should be perfectly legal. The government could also turn a blind eye to the actions of steely citizens in response to muslim outrages. After all, they shirk certain other vital responsibilies, like border control...

But, but 9/11 changed everything, I guess that includes the civil rights of all non-White-Anglo-Saxon-(Fill in your choice of acceptible Christian/Jewish religion)*

Non acceptible religions shall include- Islam, Mormon, Bhuddist, and any others that James Dobson likes to refer to as "Isms, not religions".

:rolleyes at Far right CINO's {Christians in name only)

Nothing's changed. I still don't trust the State. And, I'd rather be alive to continue to be a pain in the arse of statists and sychophants of the status quo. Self preservation is a high form of loving your liberty.

Yeah. Sh&t like 9/11 will have that effect on you. I know it's been a long time for some people and they would just like to pretend it didn't happen. But sort of like the Jews and the holocaust, some of us still remember it vividly and don't intend for it to happen again.

You can say that again. I can't believe there are people supporting a clear violation of one of the most fundamental rights this country was founded on.
