That must be why our kids' public schools are ignoring him on his Day. God Forbid they stir up any patriotism.

that Washington's birthday and Lincoln's birthday are no longer national holidays, which they should be,-

And should be on the whatever day of the week they fall.

Not that I agree with Lincoln about many things--but I greatly admire him nonetheless.

Our country will also never be able to thank him enough for the precedent that he set on giving up power. That is what now distinguishes our Presidency from all the trivial power mongering Prime Ministers around the world.

Twice the most powerful man in the country, and twice he gave it up by only his own will.
