Just reading along here, but the damage to the President by Katrina was aided and abetted by our own pundits and congress-critters! I well remember several pundits (including Bill Kristol) immediately jumping on the Katrina Bush-bashing bandwagon.

These people disgust me. The record of who said what and when is on FR, and most of the press is deliberately twisting the record of events. I hope that someday they get what is coming to them.

The Opportunist Party is populated by so called republican pundits.

They're great partners to the Donner Party.

Tony Snow said what I have been thinking for a week yesterday. The republicans and especially our Congressional delegations are holding a circular firing squad.

Running against Bush is not just foolhardy, and counterproductive, it is suicide.. and yet we have people like Duncan Hunter attacking the conservative movement at the base.

The Dems have learned from Harriet Miers, that the New Media and Blogosphere has a weakness that they can exploit.. the jerking knee.. Sean Hannity has moved from being a voice of reason to just plain "Stuck on Stupid" and this goes for alot of Congresscritters. Yes, the debate was productive for a short while but once folks dug in because they had staked out a "position" rather than just trying to communicate the facts.. then the New media became its own worst enemy.

We are divided now and folks are betting we cannot see our way to find our common interests again..

They are betting this will allow the Rats to take control and really do damage.. and many are saying this is the end of the conservative revolution that started in 1994. Meaning we may see the worst of the worst, the current leadership of the Dems in the House and Senate in charge and impeaching Bush in less than a year..

It seems to me this is a worse security outcome than any issue we might have with UAE paying the managers at a terminal at a raft of ports on the East or West coast.
